Counting Down the 80s

CDstarcity4COUNTDOWN EXPLOSION returns you to a decade that time tried to forget...the 80s.

If you thought the 70s were funny, wait until you see the costumes and choreograhpy from this "serious" decade of music. There is no doubt Counting Down the 80s is very entertaining.

Big beats, big shoulder pads and even bigger hair; the Counting Down the 80s show captures it all. Not to mention leopard skin pants and ridiculously bright makeup... and that's just the guys! Talk about crimes of fashion.

COUNTING DOWN THE 80s performs all the big hits from Cindy Lauper and Madonna to Devo and... just check out the songlist. Every 80s hit is a memory from the time vault of retro reminiscence.

It’s amazing how today's audiences have embraced 80s music; even those who are too young to remember have a similar love for this music as those who lived through it and just can't forget. With Michael Jackson and Madonna leading the way, it's no wonder this was the definition of amusing, musical madness.

So go to the back of your wardrobe, (you couldn't throw it out could you?) and break out the leg-warmers and the bandanna, tease out the hair, put on the lace and spandex and relive a time when Greed was Good, you just cant get enough and everything was in INXS.... COUNTING DOWN THE 80S!

COUNTDOWN EXPLOSION can be flexible in the selection of songs for your special event. Some of the songs which usually feature in the Counting Down the 80s Show are:

So what made you guys decide to do an 80s show?

Well we have been doing a 70s disco show for years and we were worried that our audience might start to move to the nursing home sometime soon so we jumped up to the 80s and captured a new, young and vibrant market...we also notice that the 80s is very popular even with those that were toddlers at the time...BINGO!!

What's the best thing about doing an 80s show?

The fashion! At last we get to wear all those clothes we have been hoarding away all these years.. It’s nice to justify hanging on to a pair of pants or a jacket for 20 years....

Where else do you find the outfits?

Second hand clothes shops, some we have to get made... for some members of the band they have unlocked many treasures in their parent's wardrobes..need I say more?

We have noticed that 80s' fashion has become popular and it’s not as easy to score a great glitter jumpsuit at St Vinnies as it once was.

But what about the music?

The music was good and the music was loud. Pub rock flourished during the 80s but the funny thing is that it’s the cheezy songs of the 80s that people remember the best...Devo, Flock of Seagulls, Cindy Lauper and Madonna... they seem to capture the spirit of the time.... that's the part of the 80s that appeals to us...  the cheezy side...call us sick but that's just who we are as people!

So what can I expect to see at the Counting down the 80s show?

Well.....great 80s music! Done in an exaggerated fashion sense of the era... it will take you back to a time when Greed was Good and we were all younger and the girls and the groupies ................. Expect to dance...
